JPRS expressed its endorsement to "Joint Statement on WSIS+10" delivered by ISOC et al.
JPRS expressed its endorsement to the Joint Statement on WSIS+10[*1] delivered by organizations and individuals from around the world including ISOC.
In preparation for the United Nations High-Level meeting on December 15 and 16, the progress of the implementation of "Tunis Agenda[*2]" which was adopted at "World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)" in Nov 2005[*3] has been and is still being reviewed. As input to the review, this Joint Statement is delivered by Internet-related organizations and individuals in order to call for the extension of the IGF's mandate to continue its work and the reassurance of the basic framework of Internet Governance, which are the important themes of WSIS+10 review.
Organizations and individuals are currently being invited to endorse this Joint Statement. Those who expressed their endorsement are listed as signatories of this statement.
JPRS has strongly supported the arrangement of the issues relevant to Internet would be discussed under open, equal-footed and bottom-up multistakeholder model and strongly supports the continuation of IGF as well.
In these background, JPRS endorsed this statement to express its view to the global community.
