JPRS Obtains WebTrust Accreditation for Certification Authorities

Japan Registry Services Co., Ltd. (JPRS: Chiyoda-ku Tokyo, President Koki Higashida), today announced that it obtained WebTrust accreditation for Certification Authorities on 21 January 2020.

The WebTrust program for Certification Authorities was developed to increase consumer confidence in the Internet. This program is maintained and managed by Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada).

Since 2016, JPRS has provided a digital certificates issuance service as a certification authority. As is well known, using server certificates is one of effective measures to cope with phishing by spoofed website and information leakage by wiretapping. JPRS contributes to the security of the Internet by providing the digital certificates issuance service.

The Accreditation proves that JPRS provides service with internationally recognized quality. JPRS further believes the service increases users' trust and confidence in the Internet.

JPRS will continue to make further efforts to improve the quality of its services, and thereby contributing to the development of the Internet and the building of a better future for everyone.
